Wobberson Torchon
Wobberson Torchon is the current Principal at Mount Pleasant High School. He has been working in the Providence Public School District (PPSD) for nearly 30 years, including nine years as a math teacher, and 21 years as a high school principal. Wobberson was part of the first cohort of Aspiring Principals, which was a Wallace Foundation grant to support a leadership program between PPSD and the University of Rhode Island.
Originally from Haiti, Wobberson earned a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Math Education from Rhode Island College in Providence, Rhode Island. He later completed his Master's in Education at the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, Rhode Island.
Wobberson has been privileged in his career to participate in the Public Education Leadership Program (PELP) at Harvard University that focuses on strategies and approaches to transform districts into high performing organizations. Seven years ago, he graduated from the National Institute for School Leadership (NISL), which is a highly sought after leadership program that prepares transformational schools and school districts.
Wobberson's goal for the upcoming school year is to transform Mount Pleasant High School into a high-performing school where all students who enter the doors leave equipped for their post-secondary journey through rigorous study and robust extra-curricular activities.

Jose DeAndrade is the current Assistant Principal at Mount Pleasant High School. He has been working in education for 11 years, the last four and a half with the Providence Public School District (PPSD). Prior to coming to PPSD, Jose worked at Holy Name Jr. Sr. High School in Worcester, Massachusetts, and the Rhode Island Nurses Institute Middle College in Providence, Rhode Island. He is entering his second year as an Assistant Principal, and did two years as a Principal Fellow through TNTP.
Jose earned his Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Rhode Island College in Providence, Rhode Island. He received his Master's degree in Education/Administration and Supervision from the University of Phoenix, and completed his C.A.G.S. - Educational Leadership at Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island.
Jose's vision for Mount Pleasant High School is to inspire world-class leadership that yields excellence in learning and delivers efficient 360 solutions. Jose feels that it is a privilege for him to honor and serve the Providence and Mount Pleasant community with distinction, and he is looking forward to helping the school and the community excel. Rich Norris

Rich Norris is the assistant principal at Mount Pleasant High School in Providence, Rhode Island. Prior to this role, Rich served as a school counselor at Dr. Jorge Alvarez HS in Providence. He has been a strong advocate for positive youth and family development. He has worked to support young people in obtaining internships, mentors, visiting colleges, providing opportunities for entrepreneurship, and community service. As a school counselor, he worked tirelessly for the advancement of young people through higher education.
Rich has been a part of developing various initiatives, including founding the Gentlemen’s Academy, which is a young men's school and community-based leadership academy. He was instrumental in forming and organizing 300 Men, a group dedicated to adult male development and community advocacy for youths and families. Most recently, he founded Rising Queens at 360 High School.
Rich is the married father of two children, Malcolm King and Yara Simone.

Anabel Jimenez-Hiraldo is the Assistant Principal at Mount Pleasant High School. She has spent her entire educational career working in the Providence Public School District (PPSD), and this will be her first year as an Assistant Principal.
Anabel earned her Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education - Spanish from Rhode Island College in Providence, Rhode Island. She received her Master's degree in Education from Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island, and completed the Principal Residency Network.
Anabel's vision for the upcoming school year is to help create a place where all stakeholders work collaboratively to ensure equity and high-quality education for all students.
