Computer Science (CS4RI) Pathway

Students enrolled in this pathway will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to potentially pursue a career in the field of information technology and computer science while earning college credits.

Engineering Academy

The Engineering Academy provides students with an understanding of Engineering and technology in the modern world.  It helps prepare them for careers in high demand fields and exposes them to key concepts that are transferable to many other fields.  While emphasis is on engineering principles and applicatin, students also gain an awareness of the social and ethical implicatins of technologyical development.

Music Pathway Video

Watch and see what the Music Education and Performance Pathway is all about.  Mount Pleasant has the only marching band in the city.  The Chorus and Band perform throughout the year in many different locations.  Many students start as beginners and become beyond proficient when joining this Music Family. This program has expanded to include a Contemporary Band featuring Guitar/Bass, Piano and Drum Kit. Music Production is available during junior and senior year. Students must enroll in a performing ensemble - Band, Chorus or Contemporary Band for the duration of the program.

Vocal, Instrumental Performance/Music Education Pathway

Students will receive appropriate training on their desired instrument for both band and chorus. Students will achieve their full performance potential by combining the practical experience of performing in the school's large ensembles with an intense study of music theory, as well as small ensemble and solo performance opportunities.  

Teacher Academy

Teacher Academy students take CPR, First Aid and Babysitting classes to become certified.  They also study for a Para Pro Assesment exam so they can earn their teaching assistant certificate upon graduation.  They also take an EEP course under the guidance of RI College to earn 3 transferable college credits from RIC.  The seniors go on internships to 3 elementary schools.  They prepare lesson plans and teach under the guidance of a classroom teacher.
